North American Big Rig Racing (N.A.B.R.R.)
The North American Big Rig Racing Series (N.A.B.R.R) was founded in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in1989. The series was formed after the demise of the G.A.T.O.R. Truck Racing Series that raced at the most popular oval racetracks in eastern Canada and the U.S. in the early 1980s.
We started racing 2-3 axle highway tractors and trucks that were used everyday on our highways (normally referred to by the general public as 18 wheelers).
We raced on the local ½ mile high-banked oval (Race City Speedway) in Calgary. Most people wouldn’t believe it until they actually saw them race. It was a spectacular site to see to say the least.
We expanded the N.A.B.R.R series in 1997 to include Vancouver Island, Canada and Washington State, U.S.A. In 2003 the series was expanded to include California U.S.A.
The N.A.B.R.R series has brought together some of the best talent and experience in the trucking and motor sport industry.

They have a kill switch that cuts all power in case of an emergency situation.
All new drivers are groomed, tutored and supervised by a veteran driver until the veteran driver is convinced and feels comfortable they can be on their own.
All race trucks are teched before every event and after a major incident before being allowed back on the track.
Our Goal is Safety, Professionalism & Teamwork.
We want to present the maximum entertainment value for our Motor Sport Fans, maximum marketing potential for our Marketing Partners and a successful event for our Promoters.
The Fastest qualifiers start at the back of the pack and have to move up through the pack to win. The rookie drivers have to start behind them, so they don’t get in the way of the faster trucks.
The event will start with a 4 Lap Fast and Slow Trophy Dash. Fast Dash 4 Fastest Qualifiers (Fast trucks at the back), Slow Trophy Dash, Fastest of Slower Trucks. Fast & Slow Heat Race, 15 – 25 laps depending on track size. Positions are determined by qualifying times. Qualifying usually consists of 3 Time in Laps. 1st Lap Warm-up. 2 & 3 Lap averaged for qualifying Time. Last race would consist of 30-40 Lap Feature Race.
If you haven’t seen a Big Rig Race Event, you just haven’t experienced the best entertainment value available.
If you have experienced a Big Rig Race Event you won’t ever miss the opportunity of experiencing the event again and again & again. Loyal sponsors that have supported the N.A.B.R.R. Series and helped develop it into what it is today. Mike Gibbons Logging and Excavating of Rochester, Washington. Van Dyck Plumbing and Heating Ltd. of Airdrie, Alberta, Pidherney Trucking of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Empire Truck Parts of Calgary, Alberta. Foothills Equipment Ltd. of Calgary, Alberta. Diamond D Oilfield of Eckville, Alberta. Hellbound Services Corp. of Eckville, Alberta. The organizers have reincorporated under new management in 2003. The Series is now known as North American Big Rig Racing Inc. (N.A.B.R.R.). Ron Singer is the Chairman, Peter Van Dyck is the Co-Chair, the Secretary Treasurer is Janice Maxwell, the Canadian Director is Merv Pidherney, the USA Director is Mike Gibbons and the Executive Assistant is Jennifer Singer.
The participants in the series want to move Big Rig Racing to a higher level of Safety and Professionalism. To do that, they are hoping the North American Truck and Equipment manufacture and supply industry will get more involved as marketing partners as they do in Europe.
This is an incredible opportunity for them to get more involved in the Motor Sports Industry. Race Events, Charity Events, Trade Shows and Paddock displays are an excellent way to Test, Promote & Market your products, supplies and services. It is also an excellent way to bring Trucking and Motor Sport Industries together in a forum that is other than work. Just ask the N.A.B.R.R. participants, Marketing Partners and Motor Sport fans what benefits they have gained by their association. They have been rewarded by loyal, cash paying Motor Sport fans and customers.
Our 2004 schedule has been printed in some of the best Trucking and Motor Sport Publications.
Take the opportunity to attend the N.A.B.R.R. Series Events at an Oval track near you. You owe it to yourself to participate in the most entertaining motor sport event available.
